Job Title: Principal Primary Design Engineer (HV Substations)

Working Location: Manchester (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

- Producing detailed primary design for HV/EHV substations

- Developing layout drawings, schematics, and technical specifications

- Designing electrical plant including switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment

- Ensuring designs meet safety, quality, and industry standards

- Supporting design reviews and technical approvals

- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across projects

- Contributing to continuous improvement and engineering best practice

Requirements:

- Experience in primary design for HV/EHV substations

- Strong understanding of substation layouts and electrical plant

- HNC / HND / Degree in Electrical Engineering

- Experience working on transmission or distribution projects

- Knowledge of UK standards and design practices

- Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Contract Type: Permanent
