Your new company We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the commercial decarbonisation and offsite energy solutions sector. With operations spanning the UK, Ireland, and Europe, they are well established in designing and delivering innovative low-carbon and prefabricated mechanical and energy systems. Their Birmingham (Solihull) office is home to a growing multidisciplinary design function, responsible for creating coordinated, build-ready solutions that support the transition towards sustainable, low-carbon technologies. Your new role As the new Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take a senior position within the Design Team, leading mechanical design output across a variety of commercial decarbonisation projects. You'll manage designs from early concept development through to commissioning support, ensuring technical accuracy and seamless integration with fabrication, BIM, project management, and commissioning teams.You will also play a key part in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to best-practice standards across the department.Core responsibilities include: Leading mechanical design delivery across multiple commercial projects Producing schematics, engineering calculations, plant selections, bills of materials and specifications Developing and validating BMS/control strategies from design through to on-site implementation
