Year 1 Class Teacher - September Start

Location: Croydon Contract: Full-time Salary: MPS2-6 (Outer London, dependent on experience)

A supportive and well-established primary school in Croydon is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September.

This is a great opportunity to join a school with a strong Key Stage 1 team and a clear focus on delivering high-quality teaching, particularly in phonics and early reading. The school promotes a positive learning environment, with clear behaviour expectations and a collaborative staff culture.

The successful candidate will take on full classroom responsibilities within Year 1, supporting pupils as they build on their Early Years foundations and transition into Key Stage 1.

The Role Will Involve:

Full teaching responsibilities including planning, assessment, and reporting Delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 curriculum Supporting pupils' phonics development and early literacy skills Preparing pupils for the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check Working closely with support staff to ensure progress for all learners

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold QTS and have experience teaching within Key Stage 1 Demonstrate strong phonics knowledge (e.g. Little Wandle, Read Write Inc. or similar) Be confident in classroom management and setting high expectations Show a proactive and reflective approach to teaching Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection proceduresThis role is well suited to a teacher looking to secure a full-time position within a supportive school, with strong structures in place to ensure success in Year 1.
