Job Purpose / Overview
As a member of the Central Controls Team within the Planning Discipline of Project Controls, you will work under the guidance and leadership of the IPC Planning Manager. Your main responsibility will be managing the Level 2/4 (client) Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) in compliance with HPC processes. This includes aligning with Level 3 (contract) schedules and providing time-related data and analysis. You will also support the IPC Planning Manager in leading central Planning activities for the Project and in developing Planning standards, policies, and strategies.
Principal Accountabilities
Team.
• Assist the IPC Lead Planner in implementing and maintaining Project Controls processes for Planning.
• Aid Senior Project/ Programme Managers
• by producing monthly reports with intelligent information and analysis.
• Collaborate with other Disciplines of Integrated Project Controls, as well as other Project Support Functions, to help achieve Project goals in line with the HPC principles of Trust, Transparency, and Teamwork.
Core Processes.
• Create and maintain the schedule baseline IWS in Primavera 6 (P6), with fully logic-linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilising approved construction techniques.
• Ensure the Level 2/4 IWS is updated within an agreed timeframe.
• Support the Trend & Change process, including analysis at Project level, generating performance indicators, and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
• Identify, analyse, and provide solutions to time-related issues.
• Coordinate, verify, and produce Project-level schedule reports on a defined reporting cycle, including commentary on key time-related drivers and performance issues.
• Adhere to Project governance and Scheduling standards and procedures.

Knowledge & Skills
Essential
• In-depth understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques.
• Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction methods and techniques in a UK context.
• Ability to produce accurate, complete and fully logic-linked construction plans.
• Good working knowledge of P6.
• Familiarity with other Disciplines of Project Controls (particularly Estimating, Cost, and Risk), including management techniques and associated software.
• Understanding of earned value analysis.
• Familiarity with various contract types, especially the NEC suite and FIDIC.
• Working knowledge of schedule risk analysis techniques.
• Good commercial awareness.
• High level of analytical and numerical skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all working and management levels.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
• Minimum of a degree in Engineering, Construction, or other related field, or HND or equivalent qualification with recognised experience commensurate with a degree.
• Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status.
• Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment in a similar Scheduling role on a major construction project.
• Substantial experience in the use of scheduling software, ideally Primavera P6 version 7 and above.
• Experience of commercial contracting.
1Minimum 10 years' experience in Electrical work on large-scale infrastructure/industrial projects • Qualification in Electrical Engineering ()
