Payroll Administrator

12-month contract

Hybrid, White City London - In office on Tuesdays at minimum.

Our client is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing next-generation, programmed T cell therapies for the treatment of cancer. Using a broad suite of proprietary and modular T cell programming technologies. The company is engineering precisely targeted, controlled and highly active T cell therapies that are designed to better recognize cancer cells, break down their defense mechanisms and eliminate these cells.


About the Role:

The Payroll Specialist will be a key member of the operations team who will administrate the company’s outsourced payroll and equity plan as the company scales. This role will be responsible for hands-on, end-to-end administration of outsourced payroll. This role will be in the finance organisation with direct links to the HR. Payroll administration for both onboarding and offboarding employees in the UK, US, German, and Swiss payroll.


Key Responsibilities


  • Working closely with HR and Finance Teams capturing and validating payroll data for inclusion within payroll ensuring efficiency and accuracy of data flows to external payroll provider.
  • Manage outsourced payroll process with Cloudpay (UK, USA, DE & CH), ensuring timely, accurate and efficient payroll processing
  • Ensure database integrity ensuring accuracy of data in the Cloudpay system.
  • Manage the relationship and work closely with outside service providers, such as the equity management vendor and outsourced payroll teams.
  • Manage the flow of data for the year end processes related to P60 process in the UK and W-2 process in the US.
  • Working with global mobility tax advisers to ensure compliance with UK/US tax requirements for globally mobile employees.
  • Prepare reports and reconciliations to assist in the review of equity data.
  • Propose and implement best practices and effective SOX controls to enable efficient, accurate and timely processing of payroll and equity data
  • Update payroll process documents as necessary
  • Maintain supporting documents for internal/external SOX auditors and respond accurately, thoroughly, and timely to requests for data.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, such as IRS and HMRC, as required.

Experience

  • 3-8 years experience in Payroll and external payroll providers with particular experience with UK and US payroll understanding key statutory requirements - E
  • Experience of European payroll – Switzerland and Germany - P
  • SOX control experience in the areas of equity and payroll administration – E
  • Experience of payroll related to Equity based payments – E
  • Experience of payroll related to global mobility (expats) - P


Qualifications

  • Professional payroll qualification CIPP level 4 or beyond - E
  • Educated to degree standard - P


Skills/Specialist knowledge

  • Strong eye for detail, descriptions, and process. E
  • Effective communicator, oral and written. E
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service. E
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, adhere to tight deadlines and collaborate with cross functional teams. E
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. E
