Operations Director - social housing reactive repairs

We are working on behalf of our client who are well-established within social housing repairs, to recruit an experienced Operations Director to lead and strengthen its reactive repairs operations.

This is a senior leadership appointment with responsibility for reactive repairs performance and operational governance across a wide geographical area.

The Role
Reporting directly to the executive team, the Operations Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across reactive repairs operations including people management.

The role will act as the senior escalation point for performance and service delivery while driving consistency, efficiency, and profitability across the business.

Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management

Act as senior escalation for complex operational issues

Ensure contractual SLAs, KPIs, and compliance standards are consistently achieved

Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and margin improvement across reactive repairs

Lead relationship management at senior level with stakeholders

Oversee workforce productivity, resourcing, and operational planning

Embed consistent operational processes, governance, and reporting

Support mobilisations and continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure health & safety, compliance, and quality standards are upheld

About You The successful candidate will be a proven senior operational leader within social housing reactive repairs or maintenance , with a strong track record of managing reactive repairs operations.

You will be able to demonstrate:
Senior operational leadership experience in social housing repairs or property services

Management of multiple reactive repairs areas simultaneously

Strong commercial acumen with accountability for P&L, cost control, and profitability

Experience leading contract management, scheduling, call centre, and trade delivery teams

Excellent stakeholder management skills

Strong understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and regulatory compliance within social housing

A calm, decisive approach to escalation management and problem solving

The ability to influence at executive and board level
