Astute People are working exclusively with a leading O&M Contractor who operate a Biomass plant in Craigellachie, Moray. The plant produces around 15MW of power which is enough to power 20,000 local homes and businesses.As part of a team restructure, they have added a new position to act as interface between the Operations & Maintenance Team. As Operations Coordinator you will play a key role in overseeing the day to day activities across departments to maximise plant reliability, availability and efficiency.If you have the relevant experience (please see below) and are looking for a rewarding role in the Power sector, then please apply.Responsibilities and duties of the Operations Coordinator role: Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:Coordinate daily operations, ensuring clear and effective communication across teams and shifts.Support the planning and scheduling of activities, including maintenance and outage coordination.Maintain accurate operational logs, performance data, KPIs, and reports, delivering them on time.Assist with compliance processes, including audits, inspections, documentation updates, and regulatory reporting.Act as a key link between operations, maintenance teams, contractors, and site management.Manage and update essential operational documents such as SOPs, risk assessments, and training records.Track and follow up on actions from operational, safety, and planning meetings to ensure completion.Support root cause investigations by gathering data, documenting findings, and contributing to solutions.Contribute to continuous improvement by monitoring performance trends and operational behaviours. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:Ideally qualified with a ONC / HNC / HND in a relevant engineering fieldApprentice trained in an Engineering disciplineRelevant qualification in Health & Safety such as an IOSH / NEBOSHFull UK Driving licence Personal skills The Operations Coordinator role would suit someone who has:At least five years operations or maintenance experience on a large process plant, ideally Power Generation - Candidates from other sources of Power, Utilities, Refineries, Petrochemical, COMAH etc will also be consideredAbility to interpret operational data, logs and technical documentationProficient in MS Office and operational systems (CMMS, SCADA Logs etc)Understanding of safety, environmental and compliance requirements with in a CHP or process plantFamiliar with safety rules, issuing of permits, safe systems of work, RAMS etc. Salary and benefits of the Operations Coordinator roleHighly competitive salary (ask for further details)PensionComprehensive benefitsOpportunity to join a modern Biomass Power StationINDPOW #LI-DG1Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
