My client is a UK leading manufacturer of Pet Food with some Iconic brands. They are now recruiting a National Account Manager to join the team.


Job Purpose


To develop, lead and grow strategic national customer accounts by developing and executing joint business plans that drive profitable sales, build market share, and strengthen long-term partnerships for the business . The National Account Manager is responsible for full customer P&L ownership, delivering against revenue, spend & margin targets, and acting as the key liaison between the customer and internal cross-functional teams. This role plays a critical part in developing UK based retailers for the business and in shaping customer strategy, influencing category performance, and championing commercial excellence across the organization.


Key Responsibilities


This role deals with a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to the following:


  • Development and management of the defined country’s most strategically important accounts
  • Lead the identification and acquisition of new customers
  • Opening new retail accounts for the product portfolio in the NE and SE region in line with sales and brand strategy
  • Influences & helps set channel strategy together with European Retail Lead
  • Full customer P&L ownership, ensuring profitable growth & effective budget management
  • Deliver budgeted KPI’s (Turnover £, Spend % & GM%)
  • Leads complex, high-stakes negotiations & annual joint business planning to achieve internal agreement & external sign off to maximize ROI, ensuring spend maintained to ensure profitable growth
  • Monitor, analyze and report Retail Sales Value (RSV) £, Turnover £ & Spend £ & % versus Budget and Outturn on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
  • Leads cross-functional collaboration and escalates key issues for the defined region to the business.
  • Define & implement Customer (entry) strategy that delivers upon regional and Customer goals and builds a profitable foundation for future market success.


Requirements:


Pet industry experience

Ideally Grocery account management experience

Commutable 2 days a week in office (North West)
