As part of the Boparan Private Group, we operate within a large, ambitious, and fast-paced FMCG environment, focused on safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team and support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our manufacturing and packaging assets.The RoleReporting to the Engineering leadership team, you will play a key role in delivering world-class maintenance support to the site. You will work closely with Operations to minimise downtime, improve asset reliability, and contribute to ongoing engineering and performance improvement initiatives, while acting as a role model for safety, standards, and professional behaviour.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver reactive maintenance support, responding rapidly to breakdowns and restoring equipment safely and efficientlyExecute planned and preventive maintenance activities in line with the maintenance plan to maximise asset reliability and longevitySupport proactive improvement activities, identifying recurring issues and contributing to root cause analysis and reliability improvementsCollaborate closely with Operations and Manufacturing teams to prioritise maintenance activities that support production continuityContribute to maintenance planning, providing technical feedback on faults, spares, job plans, and improvement opportunitiesEnsure full safety, food safety, and legal compliance, adhering to site rules, permit systems, isolations, and safe systems of workMaintain accurate documentation and reporting, recording all work, parts usage, and actions within the CMMS/MMSProvide effective team support and communication, ensuring clear handovers, issue visibility, and cross-shift alignmentUndertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Engineering or Site ManagerDaily ExpectationsOn a day-to-day basis, you will:Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtimeComplete scheduled maintenance tasks safely, to standard, and on timeIdentify and implement engineering improvements that enhance reliability, performance, and efficiencySupport production during shift with a proactive, solutions-focused approachCommunicate clearly with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure effective coordination and decision-makingKey Competencies & BehavioursWe are looking for an engineer who demonstrates:The ability to influence and support othersThe ability to coach, develop, and grow talented individuals and apprenticesEffective stakeholder management across Engineering, Operations, and external partnersA continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to lead and support changeA solid understanding of food manufacturing or FMCG environmentsExperience or exposure to engineering compliance and standardsMeasures of SuccessSuccess in this role will be measured through:Planned Maintenance Completion RateBreakdown Response and Resolution TimeReduction in Repeat FaultsPositive contribution to Shift OEEElkes Core CompetenciesAll roles at Elkes Biscuits are underpinned by our core values:Accountability - Taking ownership and responsibilityDiscipline - Rigour, structure, and consistency in planning and executionAgility - Empowered decision-making and an enterprising mindsetRespect - Treating colleagues, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders with careTransparency - Acting with honesty, integrity, and openness to build trustQualifications & ExperienceEssential:NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or above), with proven multi-skilled capabilityStrong electrical fault-finding experience in an industrial environmentExperience working in a Food & Drink or FMCG manufacturing environmentIOSH Working Safely (or equivalent)Experience managing key stakeholders and driving positive engineering changeDesirable:HNC / HND or higher qualificationPLC fault-finding experienceExperience in maintenance planning or continuous improvement initiativesIf this is of interest, please apply with your updated CV and a member of our team will get in touch!#talentsolutionsbisJBRP1_UKTJ
