This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong background in maintaining production machinery who is looking to further develop their skills.The RoleAs a Multiskilled Maintenance Operative, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a wide range of plant machinery and site equipment. You will support the Shift Foreman and Engineering Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable site operations.There is genuine potential for career progression, including future team leader opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out PPM and breakdown repairsElectrical and mechanical fault finding & diagnosticsMaintain a range of plant equipment, including:Hydraulics & pneumaticsConveyors, crushers, furnaces, mills & mobile plantFault finding on motors, inverters, and Siemens PLC-based control systemsElectrical work on single-phase, three-phase and 24VDC systemsReplace bearings, housings, belts, and motorsDistribution board inspections & panel improvementsMaintenance on low-voltage infrastructure systemsBasic welding and fabrication when requiredContribute to site improvement projectsOpportunity to develop further in electrical control, PLC automation, and hydraulic/pneumatic systemsWhat Were Looking ForEssentialRecognised mechanical, electrical or engineering qualificationNVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics (or equivalent)17th or 18th EditionMinimum 5 years' experience maintaining plant or production equipmentStrong fault-finding skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDesirableExperience in heavy industry such as:FoundryRecyclingQuarry/aggregatesProcess manufacturingSiemens TIA experience beneficial but not essential.BenefitsHealth & wellbeing programmeOn-site parkingHow to ApplyIf this role sounds right for you and you feel you can make a strong contribution, Work Lyf Group would love to hear from you.Please apply with your CV and a brief covering statement explaining your suitability and salary expectations.JBRP1_UKTJ
