New Yesterday
Job Description
The client is seeking a Mid-Weight to Senior Interior Designer with strong FF&E expertise to join their close-knit team based in Central London. This is a rare opportunity to work on a once-in-a-lifetime, ambitious and highly bespoke project: the restoration and refinement of a Grade I listed estate of significant cultural and historical importance.
This role is suited to an experienced designer with the confidence and capability to take ownership of complex work streams. The project demands a sophisticated design sensibility and a willingness to push boundaries, thoughtfully curating and combining historic and contemporary elements to create spaces of exceptional quality. The successful candidate will be highly creative, detail-driven, and comfortable working within demanding programmes.
The role involves sourcing furniture, antiques, and art, as well as designing bespoke furniture, upholstery, and lighting. You will be responsible for leading FF&E packages, producing concept schemes, mood boards, fabric and finish schedules, and client-facing presentations. You will oversee detailed specifications, schedules, and budgets, and manage procurement from concept through to installation. The project has significant scale and design complexity.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational and time-management skills, a strong understanding of budgets, and a high level of commercial awareness. The ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships and to manage complex, high-value FF&E packages is essential.
Skills & Experience
- BA (Hons) in Interior Design, Design, or a related arts discipline
- Proven experience within a UK-based high-end residential and/or boutique hospitality studio
- Demonstrable experience delivering bespoke, luxury interior and FF&E projects
- Strong track record sourcing ultra-bespoke furniture, antiques, artwork, and finishes
- Proficiency in Vectorworks, Photoshop, and InDesign
- In-depth knowledge of specialist suppliers, artisans, and makers
- Highly organised, commercially aware, and confident managing large-scale FF&E packages
- Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and contractors
- Excellent numeracy, scheduling, and project planning ability
- Experience managing extensive libraries of materials, samples, art, and finishes
- Strong understanding of artwork selection and art curation
Please note this role requires five days per week in the office.
Office hours are 9:30am-6:00pm, with a flexible lunch break.
