As Meetings & Events Manager, you'll be managing the meetings & events function to ensure budgets are delivered. You'll be responsible for all event enquiries from start to finish, ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery with a focus on converting all incoming enquiries to contracted business, handling payments and liaising with the client to plan and finalise the details of their event to be issued as function sheets to the operational team. Providing leadership, motivation, and strategic direction to the commercial team. Responsibilities
Co‑coordinate all Meeting & Events elements of the hotel Sales Department Third‑party channel management, ensuring SLAs are met, revenue delivered, activations of promotions and marketing opportunities to drive awareness and performance Manage and build relationships with Meeting & Events accounts (corporate, leisure and agency) Remain up to date on brand promotions, activations and opportunities to drive awareness to the property Ensure all enquiries are dealt with promptly, in line with company standards Drive and manage the conversion of customer enquiries into confirmed sales Organise and manage all aspects of the events prior to arrival Maintain and update the site database, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date customer records are maintained in line with GDPR regulations Ensure clients receive a detailed event order in advance of their event (Function Sheet) and communicate with all stakeholders Work closely with the General Manager, Director of Sales and the Cairn National Sales Team, proactively driving new Meeting & Events business into the hotel, analysing past clients and targeting for future business Complete weekly Meeting & Events forecast Conduct site visits with clients Anticipate guest satisfaction and take appropriate action to avoid guest complaints; guest satisfaction and review scores consistently meet or exceed targets Revenue growth and cost‑management objectives are achieved in line with budget forecasts Employee engagement and retention rates within F&B show sustained improvement Compliance audits (health & safety, food hygiene, licensing) achieve strong ratings Service quality across all outlets meets brand and operational standards Team performance, morale, and communication remain strong and aligned to company goals Cross‑departmental collaboration contributes to seamless guest experiences A drive for sales generation, networking, building reputations and identifying new opportunities within social and corporate markets
Qualifications
Knowledge of sales & events management in a hotel environment Experience in taking proactive action in developing sales campaigns that have an immediate impact on revenue Ability and confidence to influence senior management Excellent communication and influencing skills Understanding of yield management High attention to detail and accuracy – great at managing one's own time alongside other team members Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to stay calm under pressure, adapting your approach to complete routine and non‑routine tasks
