Mechanical/Process EngineerWe are currently recruiting for a Mechanical/Process Engineer to join our innovative engineering team focused on industrial heat treatment systems. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering excellent career progression, hands-on experience with cutting-edge thermal technologies, and a collaborative work environment.Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (39 hours per week)Salary: £40,000 - £50,000Benefits include: Long-term permanent opportunity with career developmentAttendance and performance-based bonuses Day-to-day duties:As a Mechanical/Process Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Designing mechanical components and assemblies for industrial heat treatment equipment using 3D CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360)Developing combustion system layouts, burner designs, and safety features in compliance with EN 746 standardsPerforming thermal and fluid dynamic simulations using Autodesk CFD or similar platformsAnalysing temperature distribution, heat flow behaviour, and process efficiency to optimise system performanceCollaborating with process engineering teams to integrate combustion, airflow, insulation, and thermal process requirementsSupporting testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of heat treatment systemsPreparing technical documentation, calculations, and engineering reports Essential skills:To succeed in this role, you will need: Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng) or similar (Aeronautical, Thermal, Manufacturing Engineering)Strong 3D CAD experience (Autodesk Inventor preferred)Knowledge of combustion systems, burners, gas trains, safety interlocks, and EN 746 2 standardsExperience with CFD modelling for thermal or airflow analysisSolid understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, temperature behaviour, and materials in high-temperature environmentsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Desirable experience: Process engineering experience with heat treatment or thermal equipmentFamiliarity with industrial automation or control systemsKnowledge of heat treatment cycles, metallurgical effects, and energy efficiency optimisationMSc in Thermal/Process Engineering or Energy Systems is an advantage Training: Industry-related training and ongoing technical support will be provided to ensure your continued professional development.
