Job Description
Manufacturing Technician II - Birmingham\n\nJoin a collaborative team dedicated to producing life-saving diagnostic devices.\n\nWe are looking for a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician II to join our team in Birmingham. In this role, you will be responsible for the manufacture and in-process testing of in-vitro diagnostic devices, ensuring every product meets the highest quality and regulatory standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a scientific background or laboratory experience to contribute to global health outcomes.\n\nKey Information\n\nLocation: Birmingham (Onsite).\nPay Rate: £13.53 per hour (Equivalent to £28,142.40 per annum).\nShift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (40 hours per week).\nContract: 12 months with potential for extension.\n\nYour Role and Responsibilities\n\nProduction & Testing: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to manufacture and test diagnostic devices.\n\nEquipment Management: Operate, maintain, and ensure the calibration of manufacturing and testing equipment.\nDocumentation: Accurately record work progress, inventory transactions, and raw data in real-time within the Quality Management System (QMS) and ERP systems.\n\nQuality Assurance: Perform required checks and peer verification's to support "right-first-time" manufacturing.\n\nEnvironment: Maintain a safe, organised laboratory environment, including the occasional use of walk-in cold rooms and freezers.\n\nRequirements\n\nEducation & Experience\n\nScientific Degree OR 1 year of experience in operations, production, or a lab setting.\n\nAlternatively, A-Levels in an appropriate scientific subject (or equivalent).
\nPreferred: Previous laboratory experience (professional or educational) and knowledge of Health & Safety (COSHH).\nPreferred: Familiarity with Quality System Requirements (e.g., ISO 13485 or cGMP environments). Skills & Attributes\n\nTechnical Literacy: Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.\n\nCommunication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for team collaboration.\nOrganisation: Strong time management and the ability to multi-task in a regulated environment.\n\nReliability: Personable, reliable, and possessing a positive attitude\n\nAdditional Details\n\nDress Code: Casual attire (legs must be covered, no open-toe shoes). All required PPE, including safety goggles and safety shoes, will be provided by the site.
