Job Description
Manufacturing Technician Location: Birmingham Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:30 Pay Rate: £13.53 per hour
As a Manufacturing Technician you will play a key role in the manufacture and in-process testing of in-vitro diagnostic devices. Working within a collaborative team, you will follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all products meet the highest quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
This is a hands-on role offering valuable experience in a regulated laboratory/manufacturing environment, contributing to products that support global healthcare.
Key Responsibilities

\n Perform manufacturing and in-process testing activities in line with SOPs
\n
Operate, maintain, and ensure calibration of equipment
\n
Accurately complete production records, worksheets, and raw data in real time
\n
Use ERP systems to manage inventory and record work progress
\n
Support quality and compliance within the Quality Management System (QMS)
\n
Conduct routine checks, including peer verification where required
\n
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
\n
Report issues promptly and support continuous improvement initiatives
\n
Plan and prioritise daily workload to meet production schedules
\n
\n

\n Team-based, collaborative lab setting

Heavily regulated environment (GMP standards)
\n
Majority of work performed alongside other technicians
\n
Occasional use of cold rooms/freezers (no prolonged exposure)
\n

\n Previous laboratory or production experience
\n
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations (e.g., COSHH)

Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., GMP, ISO 13485)

Education & Qualifications
\n
\n Degree in a relevant scientific discipline OR \n
\n
A-Levels (or equivalent) in a related subject OR \n
\n
Relevant professional laboratory or manufacturing experience
\n
\n
Top Skills

\n Scientific degree or 1+ year experience in lab/production/operations

Experience in a cGMP or regulated environment ()

Strong documentation and quality-focused mindset
