A leading, long-established UK construction and housebuilding business is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join its growing residential division in the North West. Acting as a key commercial lead, you will oversee multiple projects while managing and developing a team of surveyors.

The Role


Reporting into senior leadership, you will take full responsibility for the commercial performance of projects, ensuring robust financial control, contractual compliance, and effective team management.


This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven position requiring strong organisational capability, commercial awareness, and confident stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors, ensuring high standards of delivery
  • Oversee the financial and contractual administration of multiple residential projects
  • Provide effective commercial management in line with contract terms and statutory requirements
  • Support the delivery of business plan targets and commercial objectives
  • Maximise project margins while mitigating commercial and contractual risk
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across all surveying activities
  • Promote and uphold company values, culture, and professional standards


About You

  • Proven experience within the housebuilding sector in a senior Quantity Surveying role
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, contract law, and statutory compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sound commercial judgement
  • Highly organised with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong leadership and team management capability
  • Confident communicator with a professional and collaborative approach
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant systems
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
