Senior Manager - Debt & Capital Advisory

A look into the role

Your role as a core team member will support all aspects of the client experience, from business development and pitching to working on the end‑to‑end financing process. You will help clients achieve their funding objectives across sectors, advising on optimal capital structures, buy and sell‑side projects, growth capital, refinancings, and restructuring.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a broad range of debt & capital advisory projects and interact regularly with private equity sponsors, companies, banks, advisors and other service lines within Grant Thornton.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, lenders and investors, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Prepare project materials and client and lender communication.
  • Undertake financial modelling, including analysis of business forecasts, evaluation of scenarios, comparison of proposed debt terms and structures, and covenant calculations.
  • Drive day‑to‑day project management through execution, support senior leadership in identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals and contributing to deal origination.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and fostering a collaborative culture.

Minimum criteria

  • Experience gained within a professional services environment, relevant advisory firm, or a lender.
  • Proven experience managing client engagements and strong relationship management skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deal‑driven environment.

Preferred skills

  • Leveraged finance background (helpful but not required).
  • 2:1 degree or equivalent.
