Job Overview\n\nAs Management Accountant reporting to the Financial Director, the candidate will assist in the preparation of consolidated management accounts, financial analysis and reporting for 33 entities.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nFinancial Reporting & Analysis\n\n * Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements\n\n * Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance\n\n * Assist in the preparation of board and management reports\n\n * Assist in development of financial models to support strategic decision-making\n\n * All aspects of payroll\n\nBudgeting & Forecasting\n\n * Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic re-forecasting\n\n * Monitor actual versus budget performance\n\n * Work closely with department heads to provide financial guidance and support cost control\n\nCost Control & Process Improvement\n\n * Conduct profitability and cost analysis to identify savings opportunities\n\n * Support process automation and efficiency improvements within the finance department\n\n * Assist in reviewing and improving internal controls and financial procedures\n\n * Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations\n\nCompliance with legal and regulatory requirements\n\n * Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements\n\n * Statutory filings with companies house, ensuring filing dates are met\n\n * Ensuring HMRC filings are filed in a timely manner\n\n * Ensure pension filings are filed in a timely manner\n\nPerson Specification\n\nQualifications & Experience\n\n * Studying towards a professional qualification, ideally finalist level (ACCA, CIMA)\n\n * Experience in management accounting, within the housing sector an advantage\n\n * Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills\n\nPersonal Attributes\n\n * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\n * Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure\n\n * Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non finance stakeholders\n\n * A proactive and inquisitive mindset, eager to improve processes and add value\n\n * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines\n\n * Ability to work independently and as part of team
