Locum Consultant – Acute Medicine (2 year fixed term) We are inviting applications for a full‑time post as a Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine at Ipswich Hospital. Location & Organisation East Suffolk and North Essex Health Services (ESNEFT) – Ipswich Hospital. Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive assessment and management of all medical emergencies in the Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU). Work closely with senior therapists, nurses, allied health professionals and other consultant colleagues to assess patients, triage and plan their care. Supervise and train assigned EAU junior staff and ensure effective patient flow through the unit. Maintain databases and performance records of admissions and assessment provision; act as a resource for this information. Liaise with the Emergency Department to support the delivery of ED Performance indicators. Contribute to teaching of medical students and junior staff, including a regular slot in registrar teaching. Encourage and support the pursuit of specialist interests, including FAMUS training, with available resources for personal and professional development.
Qualifications Applicants must have completed CCT or equivalent, or be working towards CESR. Benefits
