Residential Conveyancer - Leeds

Full-Time, Permanent | National Law Firm | Residential Work

Hybrid Role


Key Requirements (Essential)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience handling residential conveyancing transactions
  • Proven ability to manage a full caseload independently from instruction through to post-completion
  • Strong experience in both freehold and leasehold transactions
  • Excellent knowledge of the full conveyancing process, including SDLT and Land Registry requirements
  • Strong client management and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment


Overview

Our client, a leading national law firm, is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join their established team.

You will manage a varied caseload of residential property matters, working with some of the UK’s largest housebuilders and developers. This is a busy and rewarding role where you will take full ownership of transactions, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and a high standard of client service throughout.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing files from initial instruction through to post-completion
  • Review and report on property searches and title documentation
  • Draft and issue all relevant conveyancing documentation
  • Handle pre-contract enquiries and provide clear advice to clients
  • Negotiate, exchange, and complete contracts efficiently
  • Liaise with clients, developers, mortgage lenders, and third parties to ensure smooth progression of transactions
  • Provide clear, professional legal advice throughout the process
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records using a case management system (CMS)
  • Handle all post-completion matters, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry registrations

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Professional, calm, and able to perform well under pressure
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Up to date with current legislation affecting residential conveyancing
  • Proficient in IT systems, including CMS and Microsoft Office
