If you’ve worked in care, youth support, mental health services, coaching, community projects, or any role helping vulnerable people, your skills are highly valued — and could be a perfect fit for this rewarding school-based position. Your Role as a Learning Support Worker in Ellesmere Port As an LSW, you’ll help children and young people with a range of needs access learning and daily routines. These may include: Autism and communication differences Learning disabilities or cognitive delay SEMH (social, emotional & mental health) challenges Sensory differences or ADHD Delayed, limited or non-verbal communication Physical or mobility needs requiring adapted support Your work may involve: Providing nurturing 1:1 support or guiding small groups Helping pupils understand tasks using visuals, routines and accessible strategies Supporting emotional regulation and modelling calm, steady behaviour Encouraging participation in lessons, social activities and structured play Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and on-site specialists Contributing to a safe, predictable and positive learning environment Every day, you’ll be helping pupils feel understood, valued and able to succeed — often in ways that make a significant long-term impact.
