What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands-on, rewarding role where no two days are the same.

Supporting Learning

• Work closely with teachers to support students with SEND and EHCPs
• Deliver tailored interventions and adapt learning materials
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to keep students engaged

Supporting Wellbeing & Development

• Build strong, trusting relationships with students
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Encourage independence, confidence, and social skills

Creating Inclusive Environments

• Help remove barriers to learning
• Support students with personal care or mobility needs where required
• Champion a culture where every student feels valued

Tracking Progress

• Record student progress and behaviour
• Contribute to EHCP reviews and learning plans

Safeguarding & Support

• Maintain a safe and supportive environment at all times
• Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures
• Uphold professionalism and confidentiality

Who We’re xbpsjku Looking For

You don’t need to tick every box—but you do need the right mindset.

Essential

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships
• Confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Organised, proactive, and reliable

Desirable (but not essential)

• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant (or similar qualification)
• Experience with autism, ADHD, SEMH, or complex needs
• Knowledge of strategies like PECS, Makaton, or sensory approaches
• First Aid / Team Teach training
• Driving licence and access to a car
