Lead Engineer

Location: Basingstoke
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £45,000

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Engineer to join a maintenance team, overseeing on-site engineers and ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient building services operations.

Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in an engineering maintenance environment
  • Experience supervising and managing on-site engineers
  • Mechanical or Electrical qualification (City & Guilds LVL 3, HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent)
  • CSCS card (and ECS card if electrically qualified)
  • Strong health & safety knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and lead by example


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering maintenance and breakdown support
  • Manage reactive & planned maintenance activities
  • Control and report on repair & maintenance budgets
  • Support health, safety, environmental, and energy initiatives
  • Liaise with senior management and regional engineering support
  • Provide cover across local cluster sites when required (on-call)
