Senior Interior Designer / Senior Interior Architect

Location: London

Start Date: ASAP

Reporting to: Associate or Partner, Interiors

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £44,000 – £52,000 (up to £60,000 for candidates with an architectural qualification)


About the Role

We are seeking a talented Senior Interior Designer / Senior Interior Architect to play a key role in the design and delivery of workplace and commercial interior projects.

Working as part of the interiors team, the successful candidate will lead key aspects of project design and delivery, support client engagement, and contribute to the ongoing creative development of the studio.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong conceptual design ability combined with excellent technical delivery experience across multiple RIBA stages, with a particular focus on workplace interiors and commercial environments.

Applicants should possess excellent design, coordination and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear graphic presentations and technical drawing packages.

Proficiency in Revit is essential, alongside strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and hand sketching / visual communication.


Key Responsibilities

Design & Project Delivery

  • Lead the development of interior design concepts from briefing through to detailed design
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of projects across RIBA Stages 1–5
  • Produce and review drawings, specifications, schedules, and design packages for interior architecture and FF&E
  • Ensure all design proposals align with the project brief, budget, and programme
  • Coordinate interior design packages with the wider architectural team and external consultants


Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Attend and contribute to client meetings, workshops, and design presentations
  • Communicate design concepts clearly through drawings, visuals, mood boards, and written presentations
  • Support senior leadership in maintaining strong client relationships
  • Assist in presenting design solutions confidently to stakeholders and project teams


Technical Coordination

  • Ensure all interior designs comply with UK Building Regulations, accessibility standards, and workplace design requirements
  • Coordinate with external consultants including M&E, lighting, acoustics, and contractors
  • Support tender documentation and construction-stage information where required
  • Assist with site coordination and design resolution during delivery stages


Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively within the interiors team and wider architectural practice
  • Provide support and mentorship to junior designers and assistants
  • Contribute to studio design reviews, technical workshops, and knowledge sharing


Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Approximately 6–10+ years’ professional experience in interior design or interior architecture
  • Proven experience delivering commercial workplace interior projects in the UK
  • Strong experience across multiple RIBA stages, particularly Stages 3–5
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating both conceptual creativity and technical delivery
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and workplace standards
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills


Desirable

  • Experience working within a BIM / Revit workflow
  • Experience in FF&E specification and procurement
  • Previous experience within a multidisciplinary architecture or design practice
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members


Qualifications

  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related discipline
  • Architectural qualification highly advantageous, with salary uplift available up to £60,000
