We are currently looking for an ambitious and talented full-time designer with advanced CAD skills to join our team. The successful candidate will be based at our Shoreditch office. 


As a Technical Designer at MHD, you will work closely with the directors and wider team, producing detailed room layouts, bespoke joinery design, FF&E specification, and technical documentation for high end residential and commercial projects.


Day to day responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  • Prepare complete interior layouts: furniture plans, lighting plans, reflected ceiling plans, room arrangements
  • Produce detailed bathroom, kitchen and joinery packages: elevations, sections, schedules, specifications
  • Specify FF&E, hard finishes, sanitaryware, ironmongery, materials & architectural accessories
  • Design bespoke furniture
  • Review and coordinate drawings with design directors, interior architecture teams, and external consultants
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, artisans and procurement teams for samples, pricing and shop drawings
  • Use Vectorworks, Adobe Suite & SketchUp for documentation
  • Attend site meetings when required
  • General design work and project research 


  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years industry experience
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent Vectorworks and SketchUp knowledge 
  • Experience with rendering software is preferable
  • Ability to read, understand and correct technical drawings
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Material knowledge, finishes, sanitaryware, ironmongery & luxury specifications
  • Creative flair
  • Attention to detail 
  • Proactive and flexible approach
