A fast-scaling, AI-enabled technology business is hiring its first HR Business Partner to build and shape the people function from the ground up.
This is not a traditional HR role. This is a hands-on, high-impact position for someone who wants to own people strategy end to end across a business growing through acquisition, integration and rapid scale, where TUPE and post-acquisition integration will be a core part of the role.
You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team, playing a key role in how the business hires, integrates and builds a high-performance culture.
Role: HR Business Partner
Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 (London) or £50,000 to £60,000 (Birmingham)
Location: Birmingham or London, with travel to other UK sites
What you’ll be doing:
- Own the full people function across a growing, multi-site business
- Lead people integration across acquisitions, with a strong focus on TUPE processes and post-transfer integration
- Act as the go-to expert on TUPE, ensuring smooth, compliant and well-communicated transitions
- Build trust quickly with newly acquired teams and align them to the wider business
- Build and improve hiring processes to attract and secure high-quality talent quickly
- Partner with leadership on organisational design, structure and scaling plans
- Develop performance management frameworks that are clear, effective and commercially aligned
- Manage employee relations, including complex TUPE cases and integration challenges
- Create practical, scalable HR processes without over-engineering
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including the CEO
What you’ll need:
- CIPD Level 5 minimum or equivalent experience
- 5 to 8 years’ experience within HR, ideally in fast-growth, multi-site or acquisition-led environments
- Strong, hands-on TUPE experience is essential
- Proven experience managing TUPE transfers end to end, not just supporting them
- Experience with employee relations and post-acquisition integration
- Experience building or shaping HR processes from scratch
- Confidence working directly with senior leadership and challenging where needed
- Ability to operate at pace and bring structure to ambiguity
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach rather than a policy-led mindset
- Interest in how technology and AI can shape people operations
This role would suit someone who has led TUPE transfers directly, enjoys the challenge of integrating teams post-acquisition, and wants to build a people function in a business where this will be a constant and critical part of growth.
