Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding new opportunity in SEN / PRU education? We are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic HLTA to join a brand-new specialist SEN / PRU school in Manchester, part of a well-established and thriving specialist education trust.
This role is ideal for a confident HLTA who enjoys working in a supportive, structured environment, helping students with additional learning needs and challenging behaviour to achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis Work primarily across Key Stage 3, with flexibility to support across KS4 Assist teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management, and planning Provide tailored support to students with SEN, SEMH, and behavioural needs Help ensure lessons run smoothly and students make expected academic progress Support the implementation of the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies Lead small intervention groups where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has:
✔ A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (minimum requirement) ✔ Previous experience working as an HLTA or experienced SEN Teaching Assistant ✔ A strong passion for SEN and alternative provision ✔ Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour ✔ An engaging, patient, and adaptable approach to learning support ✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills ✔ The confidence to support learning and manage support staff when required
Experience within SEN, PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision is highly desirable, but motivated candidates from mainstream settings are also encouraged to apply.
