They are now seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team and support the teachers and students in KS1/KS2.
The Role
As the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a pivotal role in supporting the teacher and pupils throughout the school day, including delivering lessons, providing targeted interventions, and helping to raise the academic standards of students.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver lessons to small groups or whole classes, under the direction of the class teacher
Provide targeted support to individual students, especially those with additional needs
Support the planning, preparation, and assessment of lessons
Help implement interventions for students who require additional support
Assist in maintaining a positive, focused, and inclusive classroom environment
Support the development of students' academic, social, and emotional needs
Monitor and track pupil progress in collaboration with the class teacher
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Level 4 or above HLTA qualification (or equivalent)
Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting, ideally as an HLTA
Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
Ability to work independently and lead groups of students
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
Desirable:
Experience working with students with additional learning needs
Knowledge of specific interventions (e.g., phonics, literacy support)
An understanding of safeguarding practices and policies
