Job Description

Working within a world leading organisation within its field, this client is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager\n\nThe successful applicant will work closely with the Technical Director, the HR Manager and the Facilities Manager to develop and deliver a range of proactive and preventative health and safety initiative\n\nThe role requires flexibility to carry out a large number of duties to include:-\n\n * Act as the first point of contact for all general H&S queries and provide professional advice and guidance\n\n * Keep up-to-date with new health and safety developments, innovations and legislation\n\n * In conjunction with the Technical Director, develop, document and implement updates and enhancements to Health and Safety policy documents\n\n * Maintain KPIs\n\n * Create and review risk management documents such as risk assessments and SWPs, covering all aspects of day to day activities including, but not limited to workshop machinery and processes, COSHH, fire, home, lone and remote working and general risk assessments, as well as project, market sector or skill specific risk assessments. Propose, implement and monitor control measures and/or corrective actions as a result of these risk assessments\n\n * Help to develop and maintain all elements of health and safety Management Systems, including updates to existing policies and procedures and the introduction of new policies and procedures as required.\n\n * Create the annual itemised H&S budget request and manage spend against the approved budget accordingly.\n\n * Liaise with outside organisations and advisors, including co-operation with them during annual external H&S audits.\n\n * Purchase, issue and record the distribution of appropriate PPE to staff.\n\nPersonal Specification\n\n * Senior level experience with extensive and up to date knowledge of Health & Safety and management systems\n\n * Proven track record of delivering projects, objectives and services within given deadlines\n\n * High level of organisation skills\n\n * Strong written, verbal communication and IT skills\n\n * NEBOSH qualified at diploma or above level\n\n * Member of IOSH
