We are looking for a proactive and experienced Corporate Health and Safety Advisor to join a local authority in Hampshire. You will help ensure all Council services meet statutory health and safety requirements while promoting a positive safety culture for staff, contractors, and the public.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review and monitor corporate health and safety policies and procedures to ensure they comply with current legislation.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers across service areas.
  • Coordinate and deliver in-house health and safety training.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance.
  • Represent the Council at external safety forums and meetings.


What were looking for:

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and CertIOSH membership (essential).
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role and experience of conducting health and safety audits.
  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication, training, and report-writing skills.
  • Confident working independently and as part of a cross-service team spread across the district.
  • Full driving licence.
