We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Service to lead all service operations in the UK, covering:
The repowering and Revamping division, supporting upgrades, inverter replacements, and long‑term asset optimisation across the UK fleet The delivery of a robust pipeline of C&I BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) opportunities Service excellence across all utility‑scale PV projects, including new deployments and legacy asset enhancement
This is a pivotal strategic role responsible for ensuring best‑in‑class after‑sales performance, customer confidence, and operational scaling as Fimer UK continues to expand its footprint. The Head of Service will oversee all UK service activities, lead internal and external engineering teams, own customer satisfaction KPIs, and collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Executive Leadership. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
Lead the entire UK service organisation with full responsibility for operational excellence, customer experience, and P&L‑related service performance Drive the strategic development of the repowering & revamping division, supporting asset owners and O&M partners with upgrade pathways and inverter replacement strategies Act as a core stakeholder in the execution of C&I BESS and utility‑scale PV opportunities, ensuring service readiness, technical capability, and customer confidence Build a scalable, future‑ready service structure that supports rapid growth in the UK renewable sector
Operational Management
Oversee troubleshooting, commissioning, repairs, and field interventions across inverter and BESS product lines Manage internal service engineers, external partners, and specialist contractors Ensure rapid response times, high first‑time‑fix rates, and strong adherence to SLAs Lead continuous improvement of service processes, documentation, training, and technical standards Act as the senior escalation point for all complex technical and service matters Maintain strong relationships with customers, EPCs, O&M providers, asset managers, and developers Ensure clear communication around warranty, RMA, repowering proposals, and long‑term asset support
Commercial & Technical Governance
Support Sales teams in shaping compelling service offerings for BESS and utility‑scale PV bids Provide cost models, technical input, and service infrastructure planning for major tenders Feed real‑world technical insights back to Product Management and R&D to improve reliability and performance
Requirements & Qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Power Electronics, or similar 7–10+ years of service, engineering, or operations experience in PV, inverters, BESS, or power electronics Proven experience leading teams at a senior management level Deep understanding of PV power plants, inverter systems, and energy storage solutions Experience supporting large‑scale service transformation, repowering campaigns, or operational scaling Strong customer‑facing and commercial awareness skills Willingness to travel across the UK Strategic leadership and organisational development Excellent communication and stakeholder management Strong analytical and technical problem‑solving abilities Ability to manage complex, multi‑technology service environments (PV + BESS) Customer‑centric mindset with high ownership and accountability
