The Role

We are hiring a Head of Engineering to lead the engineering function and build a delivery environment that supports their plans to scale. This role blends technical leadership, delivery excellence, and team development. The successful candidate will define engineering standards, strengthen delivery processes, and cultivate a high‑performing engineering culture.

This is a hands‑on leadership role, requiring close collaboration with engineers, product owners, and delivery leads to ensure projects are well‑architected, predictable, and built for long-term success.

The Head of Engineering will be instrumental in ensuring Zudu continues to deliver complex software with speed, quality, and commercial focus.

You should have:

• Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams within a software delivery environment.
• Demonstrated ability to scale engineering teams, introducing processes and practices that effectively support organisational growth.
• Strong technical background, including expertise in software architecture and modern engineering practices with the ability to conduct in-depth code reviews and provide a point of technical escalation.
• A track record of delivering complex software solutions for commercial clients.
• The ability to operate at a strategic level, contributing to high‑level planning while remaining closely involved in delivery execution.

Technical background:

• Strong engineering background with experience building and maintaining modern web or cloud‑based systems.
• Proficiency with modern development practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and scalable architecture design.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure and modern deployment pipelines.
• Interest in AI enablement and emerging technologies.
