Head of Compliance
Permanent | £80,000 DOE

We are partnering with a high-growth, FCA-regulated financial services business operating at the intersection of innovation, distribution partnerships, and customer-centric product design. The organisation has undergone significant transformation in recent years and is now entering a critical phase of maturity-strengthening governance, embedding Consumer Duty, and scaling sustainably.

This role offers a rare opportunity to shape and influence the compliance function in a business where it truly has a seat at the table. You will act as both a strategic advisor and an independent voice, ensuring regulatory integrity while supporting commercial ambition.

The Opportunity

As Head of Compliance, you will lead the second line function in a business that blends direct-to-consumer and partner-led distribution models. You'll work closely with senior leadership on everything from product development and customer journeys to marketing strategy and introducer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Compliance Leadership
  Partner with senior stakeholders to shape regulatory strategy, providing pragmatic, commercially aware advice across product design, distribution, and growth initiatives.
• Second Line Ownership
  Develop and enhance the compliance framework, ensuring robust oversight of risks across a multi-channel, partner-driven business model.
• Consumer Duty Embedding
  Act as a key driver of Consumer Duty, ensuring it is meaningfully integrated into customer journeys, outcomes monitoring, and decision-making.
• Oversight of Introducers & Financial Promotions
  Provide expert guidance on complex introducer arrangements and high-volume marketing activity, ensuring compliance without stifling innovation.
• Regulatory Change & Issues Management
  Lead on regulatory horizon scanning, breach management, and thematic reviews, ensuring the business remains ahead of evolving expectations.
• Data-Driven Risk Insight
  Deliver clear, actionable MI to senior leadership, supporting informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Team & Culture Leadership

About You

You are an experienced compliance leader with a strong background in FCA-regulated environments, comfortable operating in businesses where pace, change, and commercial focus are constant.

You'll bring:

• A proven track record in compliance advisory and/or second line leadership
• Strong expertise across Consumer Duty, financial promotions, and partner/introducer models
• The ability to challenge constructively and influence at senior level
• A pragmatic mindset, able to balance risk, regulation, and commercial outcomes
• Experience operating in growing or transforming businesses (highly desirable)
