General Manager

New Yesterday

Job Description

We’re working on the launch of a brand-new family members’ club in London. A place where children can play, learn and let off steam, and parents can relax, recharge or catch up on work, all under one roof. With great food, wellness spaces, fitness, children’s classes and proper childcare, it’s designed to make family life that little bit easier and a lot more enjoyable.

We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead the club through opening and beyond. You’ll take overall responsibility for making sure everything runs smoothly day to day, and for setting the tone from the very beginning. This is about creating a space people trust and enjoy being in, with a team who feel motivated and supported.

This is a broad, multi-service role with lots of moving parts. You’ll need to be confident running a complex site that brings together hospitality, leisure and childcare, while also focusing on the small things that make somewhere feel calm, welcoming and well looked after.

The Role

You’ll be central to everything, from final planning and pre-opening work through to daily delivery once the club is open. That includes building and supporting your senior team, making sure the right processes are in place, and creating a clear rhythm across all areas of the club.

You’ll be on the floor, visible and engaged, leading by example and making sure the member experience feels consistent and well cared for. Whether it’s a busy half-term or a quieter weekday, you’ll keep things running smoothly and help the team stay focused.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading the final planning phase and managing a successful launch
  • Recruiting and supporting a capable, collaborative senior team
  • Creating structure and consistency across all areas, including F&B, wellness, childcare and reception
  • Setting service standards and ensuring a joined-up member experience
  • Managing budgets, forecasting and reporting
  • Working closely with the wider team on events, communications and feedback
  • Being a steady, approachable presence for your team and your members
  • Maintaining a calm, safe and well-organised environment for families

What you'll bring

You’ll have senior operational experience in hospitality, leisure or private members’ clubs. You might have worked in a hotel, resort or family club where services like wellness, fitness or childcare sit alongside food and drink. You’ll understand how to manage complexity without losing sight of the detail, and how to lead a large team with clarity and care.

You’ll be calm under pressure, commercially aware and naturally collaborative. You’ll know how to get things done while also building a positive culture, where your team feel supported and your members feel genuinely welcome.

If you’re excited by the idea of shaping a new kind of family club, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note that we are unable to consider candidates whose background is solely in food and beverage for this role.
