Job Title: General Foreman - Highways

Location: Oxford (OX29 6UU)
Rate: £300 per day
Contract: Freelance, 6 months (with opportunity to extend)
Start Date: ASAP

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced General Foreman to support the delivery of highway construction works in Oxford.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Works Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of site activities, subcontractor supervision and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision and coordination of subcontractor works on site

Day-to-day management of Health & Safety, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with the Safe System of Work

Review and approval of subcontractor RAMS

Production, issue and briefing of Permits to Work

Participation and leadership in daily task briefings

Completion of detailed site diaries and records

Carrying out Health, Safety & Environmental site inspections

Supporting the Works Manager with general site operations and programme delivery

Ensuring productivity, quality and compliance at all times

Required Qualifications & Experience

CSCS Gold or Black Card

SSSTS or SMSTS certification

Proven experience as a General Foreman

Strong background in Highway Construction

First Aid at Work qualification

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site priorities
