Overview As Events Supervisor, you will support the Events Operations Manager in overseeing the day‑to‑day execution of events, ensuring smooth operations, high‑quality service delivery, and exceptional guest experiences. This role involves supervising event staff, coordinating logistics, and supporting the setup and breakdown of events. Your creativity, leadership, and operational vision will be instrumental in establishing our Montcalm Collection Hotels as a premier destination in London's vibrant dining scene. Your role will also entail setting and reinforcing operational standards, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene and safety regulations for the utmost cleanliness and food safety. You'll help to build, mentor, and motivate a team of culinary and service experts, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration where everyone strives for continuous improvement. Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the events department, including setup, execution, and breakdown of corporate functions, weddings, conferences, and private dining experiencing, ensuring smooth service throughout the events. Assist the Event Operations Manager in managing event schedules, shifting plans, and ensuring adequate team coverage for all functions. Monitor inventory levels of event‑related supplies and equipment and collaborate with catering and kitchen teams to ensure timely availability of F&B items. Event spaces maintain five‑star standards in terms of cleanliness, ambience and overall presentation. Greet and engage with event hosts and high‑profile customers, ensuring their experience exceeds expectations from arrival to departure. Handle client and guest complaints and feedback professionally, ensuring any issues are resolved swiftly and to guest satisfaction. Train the events team on luxury service standards, attention to detail and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Assist in recruiting, training and developing events operation team to uphold the high standards of establishment. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching for the team. Motivate team to deliver exceptional customer service consistently. Assist in controlling costs and monitoring event budgets, including staffing, supplies, and vendor coordination. Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless service, particularly during service, special events and private dining experiences. Drive event promotions and packages that deliver memorable experiences for our guests. Ensure all financial transactions related to events are handled in a secure manner. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Ensure that all event facilities and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and properly stocked according to anticipated business volume. Notify engineering immediately of any maintenance and repair needs. Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals. Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction. Solicit client feedback post‑event to improve service delivery and presentation quality. Analyse guest and client insights to identify and meet customer expectations and build on guest loyalty. Interact with guests and clients to ensure expectations are being met. Ensure the security and proper storage of event‑related inventory and equipment and replenish supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste. Perform other duties as assigned, including support for restaurant operations when required.
Skills and Qualifications
Passion for delivering exceptional event service with memorable experiences to diverse clientele. Comprehensive understanding of operations of events, and industry best practices, with the ability to translate insights into innovative event concepts and offerings. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, build strong relationships, and foster a positive work environment. Exceptional communication and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively multitask, prioritise workload, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. A degree qualified, preferably in Hospitality. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position ideally in 5‑Star property Hotel. With a track record of driving operational excellence and delivering exceptional guest satisfaction.
Working Conditions
Physical demands such as being on the feet for long periods of time and manual handling. Flexible schedule, including evening, weekends and bank holidays, as required by business needs.
