Base pay range FP&A Manager | Hybrid - South East London | £60-65,000 | Full-time or part-time basis (0.8–1.0 FTE). About the role: Our client, a respected London University, is looking for a qualified accountant with strong expertise in financial systems and data analysis to join their team as FP&A Manager. The post-holder will be responsible for leading key financial cycles such as month-end, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring outputs are clear, accurate, and impactful. They will bring experience in complex financial modelling and demonstrate confidence in engaging with stakeholders across all levels. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the effective use, development, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s cloud‑based financial planning and reporting system. Maintain and update financial process documentation, guidance materials, and training resources. Support financial planning and analysis activities, including model development, reporting enhancements, and process optimisation. Manage and refine tuition fee models, ensuring accurate reporting and reliable income and student‑number forecasting. Provide high‑quality financial analysis and insight to inform organisational planning, performance, and statutory reporting. Identify opportunities to enhance analytical capability, improve processes, and strengthen stakeholder experience. Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting cycles and other core financial planning activities.
Person Specification:
Significant experience in developing and maintaining financial models and complex financial reporting outputs. Proven ability to interpret complex or ambiguous data and present clear, actionable insights for senior decision‑makers. Strong financial, commercial, and business acumen, supported by excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure. CCAB‑qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant and up‑to‑date management accounting experience. Experience working within the Higher Education sector. Knowledge of multi‑stream income modelling. Experience in developing or implementing financial systems Experience in leading teams or managing processes.
