Role Overview
This role sits at the intersection of technical financial planning and genuine client relationship. You will be our CEO Nauman's right hand - preparing the analysis, models, and collateral that underpin every piece of advice his clients receive and acting as a trusted point of contact in your own right.
Apollo Private Wealth is a Senior Partner Practice of St. James's Place, founded in 2017 by Nauman Gondal. Nauman built his practice from the ground up – and today advises 140 families in a multi‑family office model that prioritises depth of relationship over breadth of scale.
His clients are business owners, senior executives, and high‑net‑worth families. Many hold significant wealth across multiple wrappers, with investments ranging up to £7 million under direct management. They expect – and receive – a quality of service and planning rigour rarely found outside private banking.
Through SJP, the practice accesses institutional‑grade fund management mandates exclusive to St. James's Place – strategies run by the likes of KKR, Oaktree, and Wasatch, not typically available to individual retail investors. The result is a proposition that genuinely bridges the gap between boutique relationship quality and institutional investment capability.
Role Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
Build and maintain Voyant cashflow models for client households. Analyse family balance sheets holistically – assets held with Apollo, assets held away, liabilities, and protection gaps – and articulate the trajectory of wealth with clarity and precision.
Prepare comprehensive financial planning analyses and scenario projections, including sensitivity modelling around market conditions, legislative changes, and shifting client objectives.
Develop detailed, compliant meeting packs, strategy reports, and annual review documents – tailored, thoughtful outputs that reflect the genuine complexity of each family's situation, not templates to be filled in.
Review and action advice sets following every client meeting, tracking each item through to completion and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Technical Research & Planning Support
Research planning opportunities across pensions, ISAs, IHT/estate planning, protection, and investment – staying current with legislative change including the April 2027 pension‑into‑estate rule and its implications for the existing book.
Provide deep technical analysis on advanced pension planning – carry forward, drawdown strategies, lifetime allowance residual considerations, and relevant life/business protection structures.
Model inheritance tax planning solutions including trust arrangements, gifting strategies, and whole‑of‑life policy structures, coordinating with external tax and legal professionals where required.
Conduct investment research including portfolio analysis, SJP fund mandate review, and platform comparisons where relevant.
Client Engagement & Adviser Support
Own the preparation behind every client meeting – ensuring Nauman walks in fully briefed, with models updated, materials prepared, and any new information surfaced and contextualised in advance.
Conduct structured fact‑finding conversations when clients' circumstances change and represent Apollo in proactive courtesy calls during market volatility or legislative shifts – communicating clearly, confidently, and with genuine warmth.
Help clients understand – in real numbers – what professional financial planning is doing for them: tax saved, risk mitigated, goals on track. Translate complex planning into language that resonates.
Attend selected client meetings, taking detailed notes, capturing action points, and providing technical support in the room where needed.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure all client files, recommendation documents, and planning outputs meet FCA regulatory standards and SJP compliance requirements, with Consumer Duty client outcome obligations at the forefront.
Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date client records within the firm's CRM and back‑office systems.
Contribute to ongoing file reviews and internal quality processes, helping maintain the high standards the practice is known for.
Role Requirements
You’ll come from a paraplanning or financial planning support background, ideally with exposure to high net worth clients.
What sets you apart isn’t just technical competence – it's the confidence and interpersonal intelligence to represent the practice directly with clients, and the judgement to operate with a degree of autonomy.
