With strong investment behind them and a clear growth plan, they are now looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to strengthen their finance operations and support strategic decision‑making. The Role As FC, you’ll take ownership of day‑to‑day financial operations, provide high‑quality reporting, and act as a key partner to the leadership team. Working closely with the CFO, you’ll bring structure, insight and commercial rigour to a busy, scaling environment. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Reporting
Manage daily finance operations and ensure robust financial controls Produce monthly management accounts, board packs and KPIs Oversee statutory reporting, tax, audit and external advisors Maintain and improve finance systems and processes
FP&A and Business Partnering
Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow modelling Provide analysis to support operational and strategic decisions Work with department heads to track performance Develop dashboards and data‑driven insights
Commercial Support
Support pricing, deal structures and contract reviews Advise on revenue recognition and margin analysis
Strategic & M&A Support
Prepare financial materials for investors or lenders Support due diligence and integration work Contribute to scenario planning and strategic modelling
Team Leadership
Manage and mentor a small, capable finance team Foster a high‑performing, collaborative culture Drive continuous improvement and cross‑functional working
About You We’re Looking For a Confident, Proactive FC Who Brings
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification Experience in an in‑house finance role, ideally within a B2B or tech‑led SME Strong financial control, reporting and operational finance experience Experience leading or developing small finance teams Excellent Excel and Xero skills Strong commercial thinking and the ability to interpret data clearly Calm, organised, adaptable and comfortable in a scale‑up environment Excellent stakeholder skills with high integrity and professionalism
