Estimator - Job Overview

• Analyse tender drawings, specifications, and client requirements
• Carry out take-offs from drawings and, where required, site measurements
• Assist in pricing works including labour, plant, and materials
• Support the preparation and submission of competitive tenders
• Identify risks and commercial opportunities within tender submissions
• Review and flag onerous contract terms to senior team members
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
• Assist in preparing tender packages and negotiating supplier quotes
• Maintain accurate cost databases and estimating records
• Provide general support to the estimating and sales teams

Estimator - Job Requirements

• Previous experience in an estimating or commercial support role (ideally within civils, surfacing, or construction)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
• Good understanding of construction materials, labour, and pricing principles
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
