Job Description

Our client is a well-established residential groundworks contractor, specialising in infrastructure civils, earthworks, and plot groundworks. They are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Estimator to join their team based in Sheffield.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in estimating within the groundworks industry to contribute to a reputable contractor known for delivering high-quality residential and infrastructure projects.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n· Prepare competitive tenders and detailed cost estimates\n\n· Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation\n\n· Help compile bills of quantities and material take-offs\n\n· Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations\n\n· Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required\n\n· Learn to identify and evaluate commercial risks and opportunities in civil/groundworks packages\n\nRequirements:\n\n· Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience\n\n· Proven experience in estimating within the civil engineering or groundworks sector.\n\n· Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.\n\n· Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.\n\n· Excellent numerical and analytical skills.\n\n· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.\n\n· Strong communication and negotiation skills.\n\nWhat's on Offer?\n\n· Competitive salary (dependent on experience) with a clear progression pathway\n\n· Exposure to a wide range of civil engineering and groundworks projects\n\n· Pension scheme and comprehensive benefits package\n\n· Supportive team environment\n\n· Clear progression opportunities\n\nPlease contact John Ashcroft at Nicholas Associates on (phone number removed) for more information.\n\nAbout Us\n\nWe are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
