Employee Relations Partner / Specialist - Netherlands
Location: Manchester (Hybrid) - Supporting Netherlands Based in the UK Contract Type: 3 Months Temporary
Adecco Manchester is proud to partner with a leading global fintech organisation to recruit an experienced Employee Relations Partner / Specialist to support the Netherlands market. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned ER professional with strong Dutch employment law expertise to join a fast‑paced, international People & Culture function.
In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to People Managers, HR Business Partners, and Legal Counsel, providing deep expertise across complex ER matters. You will play a critical role in organisational change initiatives-including restructuring, transformation, works council engagement, and union consultation-ensuring all activity is compliant with Dutch legislation and internal governance.
This position is ideal for someone who is confident managing sensitive, challenging ER issues from end to end and thrives in a role with significant impact and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert guidance on Dutch employment law and Employee Relations matters, including restructures, redundancies, performance management, disciplinary cases, grievances, and dispute resolution. Manage complex and high‑risk ER cases through to resolution within the Netherlands market. Lead and conduct investigations, producing robust, clear, and well‑evidenced reports and recommendations. Partner with HR, Legal, and senior stakeholders to ensure compliance with Dutch labour legislation (including WOR, WAB, and Dutch dismissal procedures). Support organisational change programmes such as transformations, collective and individual consultations, role eliminations, and TUPE‑related activities (where applicable). Collaborate with unions and works councils, including preparing documentation, attending meetings, and advising managers on statutory and procedural requirements. Identify ER trends, risks, and patterns through data analysis, and recommend preventative or corrective actions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of ER policies, frameworks, and processes across EMEA, with a focus on the Netherlands. Coach and develop People Managers to improve ER capability and ensure consistent application of policies and Dutch legal standards.
What We're Looking For
Extensive hands‑on Employee Relations experience gained within the Netherlands. Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of Dutch employment law, works council legislation (WOR), redundancy frameworks, and collective consultation processes. Proven experience managing complex ER issues, restructures, investigations, and performance cases. Confident stakeholder partner with excellent communication, relationship‑building, and influencing skills. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret ER data and identify risks or trends. Experience working in a fast‑paced, matrixed, and international organisation. Pragmatic, solutions‑oriented mindset with high levels of discretion and sound judgement.
