Job Description

Approved Electrician, Mobile, £45k 65k ote, vehicle included, (£22-24 paid door to door) Reading + overtime + call out Payment\nAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Approved Electrician to join a specialist engineering contractor delivering electrical installation and commissioning projects within the utilities and infrastructure sectors.\nThis role offers the opportunity to work across a range of electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities, primarily within water utilities and other process-driven environments. The Electrician will support multiple projects, ensuring electrical systems are installed safely, efficiently and in line with current regulations.\nKey Responsibilities as a Electrician:\n * Carry out electrical installation work in accordance with BS7671 wiring regulations\n * Install, service and repair low voltage electrical control systems\n * Install and commission instrumentation systems, including pressure, level, temperature and flow devices\n * Read and interpret schematic drawings, electrical drawings and technical specifications\n * Diagnose electrical faults and carry out structured troubleshooting\n * Complete initial verification and periodic inspection and testing\n * Ensure electrical installations remain compliant with certification bodies such as NICEIC or ECA\n * Produce clear technical reports and documentation\n * Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota supporting reactive breakdown work\n * Follow company health and safety procedures and quality management systems\nEssential Experience and Qualifications\n * Previous experience working as an Approved Electrician\n * Experience within water utilities, utilities infrastructure, or other process-driven industrial environments\n * NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation\n * 18th Edition (BS7671)\n * City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing\n * ECS Gold Card\n * Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics\n * Good written and verbal communication skills\n * Strong organisational and time management skills\n * Basic IT skills and ability to produce digital reports\n * Ability to work independently and as part of a project team\n * Full UK driving licence\nDesirable Experience\n● Water or wastewater sector experience\n● IPAF or PASMA\n● SSSTS\n● CompEx\nWhat's on Offer\n● Salary up to £45,000\n● Company vehicle\n● 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays\n● Long service leave awards of up to 5 additional days\n● Pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer contribution)\n● Training and development opportunities\n● Employee Assistance Programme including:\n * 24-hour assistance line\n * Telephone counselling\n * Face-to-face counselling\n * Health and wellbeing advice\n * Standby payments\nThis Approved Electrician opportunity offers the chance to work across major utilities and infrastructure projects while continuing to develop technical expertise within a supportive engineering environment.\nApply today to learn more about this role
