Electrical Design Engineer\n Location: Wolverhampton (Hybrid Working)\n Salary: Up to £50,000 + Package\n Hours: 37 per week (flexible bands and core hours)\n\nElectrical Design Engineer\nJoin a leading UK engineering organisation near Wolverhampton with over 60 years of experience delivering high‑integrity, safety‑critical systems for regulated‑sector projects. The company designs and manufactures complex EC&I and mechanical systems in‑house and supports full lifecycle delivery across advanced engineering programmes in the Energy, Research and Defence Infrastructure sectors.\n\nAbout the Electrical Design Engineer Role\n\nThe Electrical Design Engineer will deliver EC&I work packages for high‑integrity and complex control systems in highly regulated environments. You will work across the full lifecycle from concept through to detailed design, installation and commissioning, supporting machine control applications and plant‑wide automation projects.\n\nKey Responsibilities of Electrical Design Engineer \n\nProduce EC&I designs to customer specifications and project requirements\nGenerate control panel designs including GAs, detailed drawings, schematics, interlock diagrams, PLC/HMI hardware layouts, motor starters, drives, safety circuits, instrumentation and power distribution\nSpecify hardware, produce parts lists and prepare manufacturing documentation\nManage interfaces between EC&I and mechanical engineering functions\nCommunicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers and customers\nSupport the Lead Engineer in delivering scope to time, cost and quality targets\nAssist in managing and supervising subcontractors where required\nProvide technical input for tenders when necessary\nContribute to ongoing development of EC&I tools, processes and resources \n\nCandidate Profile\n\nHNC, HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)\nStrong electrical design engineering experience\nProficient in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical and MS Office\nKnowledge of IEC 61508 and British/European standards (advantageous)\nAble to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)\nStrong analytical, design and problem‑solving abilities\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills \n\nSalary and Benefits\n\nUp to £50,000 starting salary\nHybrid and flexible working\nPension: 5% employer / 5% employee + 3× salary Death in Service\n25 days annual leave + bank holidays + option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days\nAbility to accrue up to 5 additional days for authorised extra hours\nProfessional membership fees paid \n\nCommutable From\n\nWolverhampton, Birmingham, Telford, Dudley, Walsall, Cannock, Stafford and surrounding areas.\n\nWhy Join\n\nYou will join a company committed to engineering excellence and professional development.
