Dext is looking for a Director of Financial Control who will lead our global accounting function, ensuring high-quality financial reporting, strong controls, and scalable processes to support continued growth. This role reports directly to VP of Finance and manages a team of 12 (9 direct reports) covering financial accounting, AP, AR, banking, financial systems and payroll across geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Accounting and compliance across UK, France, Australia and North America, ensuring clean audits and statutory reporting.
  • Work with outsourced accountants to meet deadlines and handle queries.
  • Modernise Dext's financial engine, architecting and deploying automation and AI solutions to transform month-end close and deliver fast, insights-led reporting process.
  • Work closely with FP&A team to achieve seamless, efficient and insightful month-end process, including ownership of management accounts and high level analysis.
  • Create and implement new controls, continuously improving existing ones and achieve compliance with relevant control frameworks.
  • Treasury management and manage banking relationships across the group.
  • Lead, develop and coach a team of 12, setting clear objectives and fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.
  • Work closely with the IRIS finance team to fulfill group audit and reporting requirements and aligning common processes where practical.
  • Lead significant finance transformation initiatives, such as conversion to IFRS reporting.

Requirements

  • 10+ years progressive accounting experience, including several years in a senior management role.
  • Experience managing and developing sizeable accounting teams.
  • Experience in a SaaS environment or accounting firm.
  • Accounting degree and/or chartered accountant qualification.
  • NetSuite experience desirable.
  • Willing to work flexible hours as required for month-end close and financial reporting process.
  • Proven experience leading audits and statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
