Position Design Manager

Location North West

Pay Rate £450-a-day to £480-a-day

Contract length 6mths -24mths depending on performance with potential to extend

The Role

After a series of project wins an exciting opportunity has arisen at one of UK’s largest main contractors. They are looking to recruit a Design Manager to join their fit out and refurbishment division. A highly successful company working on some of the UK’s most prestigious construction projects with an annual turnover more than £2bn and over 2000 employees nationwide.

They cover a range of sectors including Retail, Education, Commercial, blue lights, custodial, Data centres and Distribution.

The initial projects you would be working on are large retail refits and refurbishment projects with the values between £5-£15m, experience working on refurbishment and retail projects previously is essential.

Key Accountabilities will include:

* Manage the proposals

* Produce and negotiate the project specific designer agreements scope of works and the design management plan, ensuring they are agreed and fully understood by all parties

* Ensure the project design is reviewed, mitigating Health & Safety issues

* Produce & manage a realistic design programme & information required schedule satisfying design, procurement & construction requirements

Candidate Experience

* The successful individual will have worked for a main contractor or as lead Architect on fit-out or refurbishment projects previously.

* Retail refurbishment and fit out experience is essential ideally on higher end supermarkets or major department stores.

* The individual will have experience taking projects from inception through to completion.

* Excellent IT Skills, Numeracy and good written communications skills are required.
