About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Civils Project Manager to lead delivery on a large-scale civil engineering project near Taunton.

This is a key role responsible for managing both substructure and superstructure works, ensuring project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of substructure and superstructure works on a major civil engineering project
  • Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution
  • Develop and maintain project programmes, monitoring progress against milestones
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and senior management, providing regular updates
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with specifications and design requirements

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering projects
  • Strong background in both substructure and superstructure works
  • Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification (essential)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project performance
  • Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred)
