Civil Engineer - Drainage & Water Design (Contract)\n\nLocation: Birmingham / Bristol / London (Hybrid Working)\n\nRate: £400-£450 per day (Inside IR35)\n\nJob Type: Contract - 6 Months\n\nHours: 40 hours per week\n\nAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil Engineer specialising in drainage and water design to support the delivery of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the UK.\n\nThis role will involve working within a multidisciplinary design team, delivering complex drainage, flood risk and water management designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and sustainable design principles.\n\nThe successful Civil Engineer will contribute to the development of technical design solutions, engineering calculations and detailed drawings, while coordinating design activities across multiple engineering disciplines.\n\nThis position offers hybrid working, with office locations available in Birmingham, Bristol or London.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAs a Civil Engineer, your responsibilities will include:\n\nDelivering drainage and water management design solutions\nProducing and reviewing engineering calculations, drawings and technical reports\nDeveloping designs for drainage systems, flood risk mitigation and SuDS\nEnsuring designs comply with industry standards, regulations and best practice\nLeading technically challenging aspects of drainage and civil engineering design\nCoordinating multidisciplinary design teams\nIdentifying and resolving design integration and constructability issues\nAssessing and managing technical design risks\nConducting site visits, inspections and technical investigations\nSupporting the delivery of sustainable and technically robust engineering solutions \n\nRequirements\n\nTo be considered for this Civil Engineer role, candidates should have:\n\nProven experience working as a Civil Engineer within infrastructure or civil engineering projects\nStrong experience in drainage design, SuDS and flood risk management\nExperience producing engineering calculations, reports and technical drawings\nKnowledge of drainage modelling and water management systems\nExperience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams\nStrong technical problem-solving and analytical skills\nExcellent communication and coordination abilities\nExperience working on large infrastructure or civil engineering projects would be advantageous. \n\nContract Details\n\n6-month contract\nInside IR35\n£400-£450 per day\nHybrid working\nOffice locations available in Birmingham, Bristol or London\n40 hours per week \n\nIf you are a Civil Engineer with drainage and water design experience looking to work on major infrastructure and civil engineering projects, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a significant programme of work within a leading engineering environment.\n\nApply now to learn more about this opportunity
