Job Description

IR35: Inside\nOur client has a requirement for a Civil Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis across the UK, supporting small- to medium-scale building and infrastructure projects. The role offers a flexible working approach with hybrid and remote options.\nRole Purpose:\nTo contribute to the delivery of technically focused civil engineering designs, ensuring high-quality outcomes across building and infrastructure projects. The role involves design and analysis of drainage, utilities, pavements, earthworks, and access, as well as collaboration with a multi-disciplinary design team.

This position provides the opportunity to develop skills in civil structures, drainage design, utilities, and pavement design.\nJob Role Responsibilities:\n * Deliver designs for small- to medium-scale building and infrastructure projects in accordance with UK standards and codes\n * Design and analyse drainage systems, utilities, paved/unpaved surfaces, earthworks, access, and construction logistics\n * Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary design teams\n * Comply with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures\n * Work in line with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work, and project BIM Execution Plan\n * Manage own workload efficiently\nExperience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:\nEssential:\n * 5+ years’ experience as a Civil Engineer, ideally in building projects\n * Drainage design experience (Infodrainage or Flow software)\n * Roads and car park design experience\n * Proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD; Revit BIM 360 desirable\n * Working towards ICE chartership\n * Familiarity with UK design standards and best practices\n * Strong verbal and written communication skills\n * Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams\n * Embrace digital engineering, automation, and parametric design\nDesirable:\n * SC clearance or ability to achieve\n * Driving licence\n * Experience dealing with statutory approvals with regulators\n * Experience on small-scale building projects\n * ICE Chartered status\nCompany Information:\nAt First Recruitment Group, we understand how important it is to secure the right people.
