We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established childrens care organisation for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join a 6-bed residential home in the Heathrow area of West London supporting children and young people with learning disabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated senior residential childcare professional who is looking to progress their leadership career while making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Registered Manager, the Deputy Manager will support the day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring a high standard of care and a safe, supportive environment for the children.

You will play a key role in motivating staff, maintaining regulatory standards, and promoting positive outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to the care team

  • Ensure the home operates in line with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Support and empower children with learning disabilities to reach their full potential

  • Promote a nurturing, structured, and positive living environment

  • Assist with care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies

  • Maintain effective communication with families, social workers, and external professionals

  • Step into a leadership role in the absence of the Registered Manager

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in childrens residential care

  • Experience supporting children with learning disabilities

  • Experience in a senior support worker or team leader role within a residential setting (desirable)

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Residential Care (or equivalent)

  • Willingness to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

  • A genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and young people
